admin answers:

During the first trimester loss of appetite is quite normal. Just make sure that you are making yourself eat at least something, be taking your vitamins, and make healthy choices. It sounds like your chooses aren’t bad at all!! Once your appetite picks up is when you’ll want to be sure that you’re eating right. I have attached a few websites that have helped me with menu idea and healthy exercises.

I am 11 weeks, and going through the same thing! Congrats and your new little one!

admin answers:

Homeopathic Treatment for Excessive Fat and Weight :-
PHYTOLACCA BERRY’s Mother Tincture is perhaps the safest and sure fire way of loosing excessive fat around abdomen. With Phytolacca Berry once you loose the excessive fat and weight you don’t get it back because you body takes care of itself after that and keeps you from gathering up excessive fat. It is prescribed after having a baby too, to get the tummy to loose its flab and to make it flatter and tighter. And after loosing weight with this you don’t get flabby it tightens up the flab and skin along with helping your body to shed the excessive accumulation of fat around the girth
The dosage is 15 to 20 drops of the tincture in half a cup of hot water thrice a day half hour before or after meals.
Avoid Chocolates, Coffee, Mints, Red Meat and Carbonated and Alcoholic drinks while taking Homeopathic Medicines. You have to take it for at least 30 to 45 days after that you start to feel the results.
To the best of my knowledge its the safest and the most sure fire way of loosing fat and weight and keeping it of for keeps. Excellent remedy for Obese people who cant seem to shed weight despite trying.
Homeopathic Remedies can be found at all Major Herbal Stores or could be bought on line, In most of the world Homeopathic remedies are quite cheap and easy to find and they do not need a prescription.
Take care and God Bless !

Susan asks…

started the raw food diet..today! i am 17 yrs old and a woman… is this breakfast menu enough?

For breakfast:

apple
2 oranges
2 cups of green tea

admin answers:

No, I’m a 6 year SUCCESSFUL raw foodist. I’m 28, my skin is pretty, I have muscle and I think clearly.

You need more calories for the morning or your energy level will be low and you will crave cooked food.

Apples have very low calories per volume. Should be more like 6 oranges, 2 apples.

In general, 6 pounds of fruit contains enough protein to equal the 32grams you supposedly should be eating each day. Don’t listen to the protein preachers, don’t even mention your diet to them because you’ll never hear the end of it.

Here are some tips.

Rawfood PowerHouse Diet:

8am……………….Meal 1 – Smoothie: 8 bananas, 4 celery stalks; Eat: 2 leaves black kale
12pm……………. Meal 2 – Eat: 6 oranges, 2 leaves black kale
3pm……………….Meal 3 – Eat: 1lb any berries, 2 leaves black kale
6pm……………….Meal 4 – Eat: 1lb Salad, Mixed Greens Only, 0% fat dressing is o.k. To use, no more than 1 tbls.

Notes:

Buy a large bowl for home & a medium sized cooler to put in the trunk of your car

Buy enough fruit so that you have 4 days worth everytime

Eat fruit only when it is ripe

ALWAYS eat greens with the fruit, it cleans the teeth and keeps them super bright white, without the greens, your teeth will start to turn yellow. Fruit in grocery stores is modified to have 10x the sugar than they used to, the greens are important.

No tomato in the salad unless it’s Hierloom

No avocado or nuts, the fat from both will stop the fruit sugar from entering your system and drain you of energy… the nuts will mix with the fruit sugar and destroy your gum line and teeth

Never eat in the 2 hours before bedtime, the best sleep comes on a un-full stomach

No more than a glass of organic (no sulfites) wine a day (hey, we are only human)

Have fun, don’t let your diet be your life.

If it makes you look good and feel good, do it!

What Are The Different Diets Used To Lose Weight

Steven asks…

i’m going out with my family tomorrow and ?

I am going out to lunch with my family tomorrow and just started a diet. I want to stay healthy and eat foods god for me but the restaurant we are going to may not be the best for me(houlihans) I still want to go and don’t want to be rude and make them go to a different restaurant or not eat anything so what should i do? Should i maybe get off of the kids menu, will that be a little better?

admin answers:

You could order a side salad and a shrimp cocktail. That is tasty and filling and diet-worthy. Most menus provide healthy and calorie conscious entrees. Avoiding temptation will be the biggest challenge. Just stick to your diet. It should be no problem.

Carol asks…

Kid-friendly meals when on diet?

I am trying to lose weight but it’s hard to find things to make that my children will like. I have a 2 year old that is special needs and a 7 year old that’s just a picky eater. Does anyone have any menu suggestions that are relatively quick to make but that the kids will like? (That also involves ingredients that you can find at your local grocery store…it’s hard having to go to 5 or 6 different grocery stores trying to find all the ingredients) I hate making something for them and then making something for me. I just want to make one meal that we all can eat. Thanks for your help.

admin answers:

Well your in a tough situation because it is hard with kids that young. You can eat anything they do but eat half of your normal amount. Add a salad or a fruit salad to everyone’s meal.
Fruit is sweet enough for most kids, and veggies taste great with a little low cal ranch and reduced fat cheese.

Thomas asks…

Why can’t I lose weight?

I have 100 pounds to lose. I go to the gym at least five times a week. I work out doing water fitness for one and half to three hours every time. I have been doing this for five weeks now with no weight loss. My diet isn’t perfect, but it isn’t terrible either. If I go out I order off the kids menu, so I am careful about portions.
As asked I drink anywhere from five to eight glasses on lemon water a day. I try to avoid soft drinks, but do have them occasionally. I agree with most of you that although I am eating smaller portions it may be that my food choices are not the best. The thing is a few months ago I went on an all organic diet, cut out all pastry, and allot of carbs, for three months not any weight loss then either, but at that time I wasn’t exercising. I guess I got turned off doing a diet so strict. I will keep a food journal, and take all your advice regarding what types of foods I am eating. Thank you for all your help.

admin answers:

Ummm, ordering a McDonald’s kids meal is still a crappy diet choice. Just because the salty, fatty burger and fries are smaller doesn’t mean they’re not still salty and fatty. Try actually eating healthy foods that are low in calories (i.e. Have a nice salad with grilled chicken)…

Can someone help me plan a daily diet menu?

I’m 17, male
Height 180 cm (5 inch 11 feet)
Weight +-100 kg (220 lbs), I know it’s very fat

can someone make me a diet menu?

admin answers:

You’re not fat lmao, don’t worry about it but onto the important part. Limit your fast food intake to one or two every two weeks, and cut down on soda as much as you can.

Btw I’d start exercising cause a diets kinda pointless without lifting/plyometrics/cardio.

Donald asks…

What is a safe, easy detox diet menu?

I am trying to find a safe, effective detox diet menu that I could use in conjunction with an herbal kit.

admin answers:

Lots of:
Vegetables (steamed, not raw)
Clear vegetable based broths
Poached fish or chicken breast (use the water for a soup)
Fresh non-citrus fruit juices (buy a juicer, it’s worth the $$)
Brown rice, whole grain pasta and potatoes (sweet or white) – go easy on these portions

No:
Oils/fats of any kind (incl. Margarine)
Refined sugars of any kind
Caffeine
Diet sodas or teas or drinks
Bread of any kind
Definitely no alcohol
Salt

NB: Do not bother to count calories – these good calories will nourish your body while the herbs do the work.

2 weeks and you’ll feel awesome. Good luck!

Jenny asks…

can anyone give me a low carb diet menu?

Yea, I’m 14 years old, 5’3.5, and 128 pounds with muscles and a pot belly. I read somewhere that to get rid of it I should go on a low carb diet and consume more protein. I know that meats have a lot of protein but I eat meat almost every day. Should I eat more? What’s the menu of foods I should eat from?

admin answers:

I learned recently that excess weight is not always due to excess body fat, a lot of unwanted weight is simply sitting around in the insides. I used a brand new diet supplement that is taking the nation by storm, it rinses out the insides. I do not know how it operates however I know that I lost seventeen lbs and 5 inches from my waistline! There’s a risk free trial at http://fetoturs.voxelperfect.net

What Are The Different Diets Used To Lose Weight

Helen asks…

hi, 3 weeks ago i went to the doc. for a check up. ?

when he took my blood pressure he said it was a bit high 138/100. he said to do a low sodium diet for 3 weeks after i did that or at least i only added a little bit salt, when i had to do a physical for a job the nurse said it was still high. i have 3 small kids and i don’t really get much sleep. i did research on the internet and it said that not sleeping enough can increase blood pressure. is this true ? does a no salt menu reduces blood pressure since most foods naturally contain salt? how can i reduce it naturally without the drugs ?any ideas ? please share. thank you soo much.

admin answers:

Wow, you need to eat more meat.

Thomas asks…

What to do when your body is producing the bad cholesterol?

What types of conditions cause your body to overproduce the bad cholesterol LDL, primarily in your liver? My mom, whose 45, was recently diagnosed with hypertension. The last time she saw a doc, her labs mentioned that she had elevated cholesterol, but not extremely high. (I forget what her levels were). As of late, she was suffering from constant fatigue and a little swelling of her ankles, chest pains (but not often) and some pressure on the veins of her neck and head. I took her to a family doc and that is where we found her high BP. Doc ordered a few tests including a cardiac stress test on the treadmill, labs and thyroid exam. He also said to lay off the burgers and french fries.

When he said this, I stopped him on his tracks. While it is true that most people suffer from elevated LDL because of poor dietary choices, I can attest to the fact that my mother isn’t one of those. My mother, for my lifetime, has always been a picky eater. Never ate out because restaurant food disgusted her and meat was always out of the menu since she is vegetarian. Her everyday menu consisted of generally the same damn meal for over 25 years since she became a U.S. citizen. She’s one of those finicky people that eat the same thing without getting bored, give or take a few items on her plate. For breakfast she eats a piece of toast w/coffee, for lunch a squared grilled sandwich with a slice of swiss cheese, and for dinner a small cup of white rice, white or black beans with a piece of baked salmon or baked egg plant or just plain green salad. No salt, no dressings, nothing except a little vinegar and olive oil. Since young, I can’t remember my mom eating anything else.

I explained her diet to her doctor and he didn’t place much attention to what I said, I suppose, because on her second visit, he mentioned to lay off the fries again. I had to take her in as a walk-in that day because he failed to give her medication the first visit while he waited for the labs. And her BP was sky-rocketing in the 150′s / 90′s. On this visit, he gave her samples for Benicar HCT once a day as we wait for her labs appointment on the 30th.

I have a strong inkling that it is safe to rule out the thyroid issue because she has never had a problem with that and there’s never been a history of thyroid in our family. However, there has been an issue of cholesterol on my mother’s side and obesity. My question is, how can my mother, who eats what she eats on a daily basis, cause her to balloon from 125lbs to 157 lbs over 5 years for her 5’0″ stature?

What could be causing her high blood pressure? Is she sensitive to any existing amount of salt in her foods? Is her cholesterol to blame? How do you stop it if you are already eating modestly?

Now, they can give you all the medication in the world to fight cholesterol, but how can you permanently and efficiently stop this problem if it is not your diet causing this? Could it be her liver? If so, how do you fight against that? And what is with the non-occasional chest pains? Are those symptoms of a heart attack waiting to happen?

admin answers:

Hereditary conditions.
People who have a family history of high cholesterol and blood
pressure are more likely to develop it.
Doctors usually start patients on a lower cholesterol diet before
they decide to give the medications to lower it. This is done
to see whether the food she takes in (which you said she
doesn’t) contain alot of cholesterol. If it doesn’t lower with
the special diet, then a decision of whether this is normal
for the patient and won’t cause a problem, or it is too high
and should be lowered with drugs. (like Statins)
She should write down everything she may eat in the day
and try to do that for a couple of weeks…then when she
has the next blood tests, the doctor can see that it isn’t
coming from that (looking at her list)…should the levels
stay higher.

The same is true for high blood pressure. This can come
from being under alot of stress or kidney problem or
even a heart circulation problem. It can also be
hereditary. You can get a blood pressure machine at
the local drug store and she could take her blood pressure
more frequently. (Some people’s blood pressure goes higher
in the doctor office, just because they are there) If the doctor
thought she was using too much salt (because of leg swelling,
etc) he would place her on a lower sodium diet and tell her
how much fluids and sodium she would be allowed per day.
Sodium is one of the electrolytes that keeps the heart beating
in rhythm, so this has to be watched closely by blood testing,
to be sure it stays at a certain level in the blood (should she
be placed on a lower sodium diet or diuretics).
[There are different types of blood pressure lowering drugs}

Checking her thyroid is a good thing, even if she doesn’t
have a family history of it. It sounds like he is trying to see
if her metabolism is slower due to the thyroid not producing
enough hormone, Thyroxine, to regulate it well. Having a
slow metabolism can effect every organ of the body
and make her tired. She would easily gain weight no
matter what it is that she ate. The thyroid could also
have an effect on her cholesterol levels being higher.
If this is a thyroid problem…then she would be started on
a replacement of the thyroid hormone (levothyroxine)
and this would have to be checked by blood tests
being done until the levels are within normal range and
stay that way for her.

It sounds like you have a doctor that is trying his best
to be sure he covers all bases in fiquring out what may be
wrong. This can only be done by the testing results he
may receive.

To lose weight u need to eat right and have a workout plan 5-6 days a week.u have to want it.
***try this u need to change ur diet.
Eat six times a day. Ea of ur 3 main meals needs to combine a lean protein such as chicken breast ground turkey turkey bacon egg whts also combine that with a complex carb such as a baked potato or sweet potato wild rice brown rice oatmeal or girts. Also add fresh fruit and vegies to lunch and dinner. Pick fruits low in sugar like pears and berries. If u get canned vegies get ones with low sodium. Eat every 3-4 hrs keep ur metablism moving.
***also the most important part is WATER drink at least 64oz. No soda or juice. Water will curve ur cravings.
U need to hit cardio 3-4 times a week running outside it great workout if u can hit a gym and cardio machine is great at least 30mins***
also add weight/strength training 3 times a week.u can google free weight traning guides anywhere. Its not hard to find things for free.
***plan ur meals ahead of time.always have a healthy snack with u so u wont be tempted to eat fast food. Also if u wait to late to eat u will get so hungry u will eat the world. Make time to work out start out with 30 mins then increase.its ur body treat it right. Ur diet alone can help lose weight but working out makes ur body look good. admin answers:

Buy the New Dieter’s Cookbook. It’s a gold mine for low calorie, tasty, healthy meals. I bought that book in 2000 and it’s a good cookbook if you want to lose weight (I don’t know about more recent editions) especially if you have kids as my kids are pretty fussy eaters but loved most of the recipes I make with that book.

I don’t need to lose weight anymore but I still use that book. It should not be called the “New Dieter’s Cookbook” but the “Healthy, low calorie, fulfilling and scrumptious Cookbook”.

They don’t cut corners. They have a lot of ingredients (which is why the recipes taste so good) and you can adapt them, omit things you don’t like or don’t have, use better/fresher ingredients (I never use anything frozen and I only use my own homemade chicken stock).

The only problem with that book is that it has hundred of recipes (like 400?) but once you find 50 that you really like and do them over and over, you don’t want to experiment further and might miss out on the other 350 recipes. Like it’s in my “to do” list…doing a recipe from that book that I’ve never done before.

Please help me with my diet ?

I am 21 years old, 5′ 9″ and weigh 217 pounds, My blood pressure is a little high and my doc said I need to lose a little weight, my goal is to get to 170 pounds, the diet I am on now is a bowl of high fiber cereal with some berries for breakfast. A salad with low fat dressing and a slice of toast with some peanut butter and a cup of orang juice for lunch. A fish fillet or chicken breast with some green beans and a slice of toast with some peanut butter, and a low fat pudding with a glass of orang juice. and lots of water all day, I also walk 30 min a night. My question is, is there a more healthy diet than this one or am I on the right track to losing weight, I do not want my health to get any worse than it already is right now, and please feel free to give me a new diet menu to help me maintain a healthy body and heart ect. and is it OK to burn more calories than I take in. Thank you for your time and god bless.

-Tim C
taking in calories comes out to roughly 1300 to 1400 a day I added them all up.

admin answers:

1, Yes, there is a better diet. Some suggestions are to use whole grain bread for the toast if you need toast and skip the peanut butter, it is high in fat and calories as well as sugar unless it is the natural PB.
Orange juice is mostly sugar, lose that.

The mainstay of any long term healthy diet is going to consist of lean meats, poultry and fish grilled, blackened or baked. Veggies steamed or boiled or microwaved like green beans, brocolli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts.. Avoid white potatos.

Fruits can add calories and sugar so shoot for the low glycemic ones like berries, strawberries, cherries, apple.

Burning more calories than you take in is the definition of losing weight so yes, of course its ok.

Donna asks…

Where can i see more about HCG Diet Menu?

From 65KG to 55KG in one year, this is what I personality experience all the process, to me it is a miracles. Like all the white-collar because of poor eating habit, do not exercising enough and a malfunctioning metabolism, I am getting much fatter, fortunately I find the best way to lose weight – HCG Diet menu.

admin answers:

The HCG diet works for women. I’ve done extensive research and studies on this diet.

You must use legitimate HCG (injectable or sublingual). Do not fall for the many HCG scams out there today, especially the supplement variety. HCG is a prescription drug. The HCG drug is about $60 for a vial of 10,000 IUs, of course it requires a prescription. You can find an “anti aging” doctor in your area that will prescribe this. Some doctors that prescribe HCG might charge a higher consultation fee to administer it.

The many tests you will see referenced pointing to the HCG diet not working are flawed tests. These tests used many male subjects and men respond totally different to HCG than women do. Additionally, these tests failed to administer the diet correctly and used improper doses of the HCG compound.

The reason the HCG diet works for women is that it changes the her body chemistry. It tricks her body into thinking it is pregnant allowing her to eat as little as 500 calories a day and it not affect her health adversely.

Normally when eating a 500 calorie diet, an individual would lose muscle tissue as a result of inadequate calorie intake. The body would preserve and protect body fat and break down muscle tissue for survival reasons.

When HCG is present it causes her body to think she is pregnant and it will start accessing body fat stores for energy rather than muscle tissue. It will also decrease her appetite causing her to not have a hungry feeling all the time.

But you have to follow the HCG diet exactly without wavering. Any slip up will knock her out of the chemical state that HCG put her in.

Of course, after the diet, you cannot just start eating anything you want and expect to keep the weight off. The HCG diet does not correct your bad habits.

I currently have a 42 yr old client that is on the HCG diet and she has lost 20 lbs in 3 weeks with zero strength loss. She has been working out 4-6 days a week on cardio and weight training all of her life and had hit a wall. It seems like no matter what she did, she couldn’t lose weight past a certain point. The HCG diet put her over the threshold and she feels better than ever. But it does require discipline and work. You have to stick to the strict diet exactly, no exceptions.

A very good resource to learn about the HCG diet is a forum at: http://hcgdietinfo.com/hcgdietforums/for…

Good luck!

Richard asks…

Best diet menu to eat for maximum weight loss?

I’m thinking of starting a weight loss diet and im trying to lose 40lbs.
I have a complete exercise plan but I am still confused on a specific diet plan that will help me achieve maximum weight loss..
Any good menus that have worked with anyone else?

admin answers:

Hi,

I graduated high school at 240 pounds and at 5 foot 3 that made me about as round as I was tall. I was one of those overweight teenagers who ate anything and everything without any regard to the effects it was having on my own body. Therefore, I began the diet pills, which did not work; I ate the special diet foods and even began drinking diet beverages. None of this stuff worked for me, just as it does not work for millions of overweight people. Eating less did not work and I was not one to work out or even get up and do anything remotely related to exercise. I knew I would look silly and it would hurt. I never thought or really cared about the health effects this would have on me, back then.

A year ago after a successful weight loss plan, now at 120 pounds, it is a major difference. I’ve lost 30 pounds in the first month. The most significant change in my life is the amount of energy I now have and the way my clothes fit loosely. Everyone close to me and people I haven’t seen in a while are amazed and tell me that I look really good. This is a life changing experience for me although at first I was skeptical about the weight loss plan.

Our own metabolism system play a vital part in controlling the amount of body fat burned in the process of providing energy to the body. Knowledge about our own metabolism function is the mother to all weight loss programs. With the knowledge you not only reduce your weight but able to maintain an ideal weight and living a healthy life. The weight loss program has proven to be effective in the short and long-term, without need to endure starvation and without any daily athletic workout. (But taking a light exercise every few days is highly recommended). Best of all you can eat what you most enjoyed without gaining any weight The weight loss program is affordable by all and do not need to pay a monthly fees to use it. In contrast to diet pills regime where you need to buy it on a regular basis and the amount of lose weight will reversed back when you stop consuming it.

The success has inspired me to help others and i am sure you won’t be disappointed. The link is at the source below and discover how you can become noticeably thinner in 11 days by eating in a way you’ll actually enjoy.

Cancer Risk Higher With Western Diet?

A new study suggests the more Western your diet is — meaning heavy on meat, starch and sugar — the higher your risk for cancer may be.

The study followed older Asian women who had been placed on two separate diets: traditional cuisine rich in vegetables and fish and a Westernized diet heavy on red meat and sugar. Women who adopted the Western diet had higher rates of breast cancer. “Our study shows a Western-style diet seems to increase [the] risk of cancer in Chinese women, which traditionally is a low-risk population for breast cancer,” said Marilyn Tseng, a study researcher at the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia.

Breast cancer rates in China are a quarter of those in the United States. That’s changing, though, as menus around the world, especially in urban areas, move toward Westernized global fare.
“Adopting a more Western diet increases intake of saturated fat,” said Keith Thomas Ayoob, a professor of nutrition at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. “It may be squeezing out whole grains and vegetables.”

This study is the latest evidence that the typical American diet is high risk. Americans can take steps toward improving their health by considering Asian-inspired diets.

“One simple but important step is cutting down on meat consumption, especially red meat,” Ayoob said.

Ayoob said that a healthy daily diet should include 4½ cups of fruit and vegetables, at least three servings of whole grains and at least three cups of dairy foods.
I STRONGLY BELIEVE ITS OUR WACKED DIET!!!!!!!!!1

You should eat everything in moderation, even red meat, because it is very high in B12 vitamins. In other countries the portions of food is half the size than here. Breast cancer is higher in the US because women work in offices with artificial light. Sunlight is a big issue in breast health, because it develops vitamin D, which is protecting the breast. In Europe it is against the law to work in an office without windows and here in the states, if you have a window in your office it’s blocked with mini blinds. US is the number one country with the highest breast cancer rate.

Look at the people who live in the mountains and people hunt for the meat they eat and grow vegetables. Those people make their own wine and drink it and even smoke pipes. They eat butter, cheese and meat and they live to be a 100 years old. Stress is another factor and to work in the USA is very demanding. You are like a number who has to produce a certain number of “Whatever”. This country has less vacation than any other country. Stress is not only causing heart attacks, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, it is also the cause of cancer.

What Are The Different Diets Used To Lose Weight

Richard asks…

Help! Diet choices for restaurants menus?

I;m 24, 5’7-5’8, 150lbs and on a 1200 calorie diet and lost 3-4lbs so far my scale was taken back to the store for being inaccurate… I feel great and look awesome.

What can i choose to eat if i’m in a hurry or no where near a kitchen (after i had a snack). I had to choose Taco bell Fresco soft chicken taco (2) and that FAT level was really HIGH. The best thing there is the simple beef taco from the diet menu. What can i choose at other restaurants such as Wendy’s, Burger King, McDonalds (snack wrap is unhealthy! don’t be fooled), Zaxby’s, Sonics, Chinese Buffets, Japanese stir fry eateries…stc. I have an Eat this not That Manuel but it only says so much.

I have date soon and we want to go out to eat. What can I choose to eat at an Authentic Mexican or Greek-Italian restaurant. I’d like to get pizza but im thinking a veggie pizza with light cheese would be best for the Greek place. For the Mexican Restaurant I read avoid buritios but the one i love has beef, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and melted and shredded cheese (Burrito Deluxe). I read only get burritos with chicken and a simple sauce and avoid eating too many chips and salsa.

I’m using Web M.D’s fitness and food planner. I walk to Leslie Sansone’s Walking DVDs and on a 1200 calorie diet..i eat plenty of fruit smoothies with a few tablespoons of yogurt, old fashion oatmeal w/ nuts and berries added, chicken, Flaxseeds, natural dried and fresh fruits, fresh veggies, etc. while trying to eat right with old school parents that lack major change.
i forgot to add i live in a small town so options are real vast. A restaurant with deli salads, sandwiches, and soups don’t exist here unless it’s in outback, ruby Tuesday or Texas Roadhouse.

You could always just avoid fast food places go to another kind of eatery Avoid any kind of fried food go for baked or grilled. Eat veggies and salad but avoid dressings. You will feel much better in the long run when you have reached your goal weight and can eat all the yummy things you like in moderation whenever you feel like it. :-) ps I know how you feel I lost 120lbs avoiding all the yummy stuff but now I enjoy it even more when I have it.

George asks…

Can you tell me how I am doing on my new diet?

Hi. Its a new year and I plan to start dieting. I am 19 years old. I weigh 195 pounds and my height is 5″4. Note: I am trying to conceive my first child. Please don’t judge me. I only want advice. But yeah since I want to loose weight I know it means exercising and eating healthy.
My boyfriend bought me a treadmill and I made a menu planner.

-Breakfast: Fiber one cereal w/ milk and fruit.
-Snack: Light yogurt w/ a granola bar.
-Lunch: Turkey Sandwich w/ mayo & vegetable OR gold fish cracker(a substitute for chips because I am addicted to them!)
-Snack: carrots OR fruit.
-Dinner—-Okay my boyfriends family is salvadorian and they make alot of salvadorian food like
-bean soup
-chicken soup
-beef soup
-tacos
-carne asada
- and other stuff
I dont know how many calories they have but ususally if I like the food she is making I will eat it for dinner, but if I dont like it I will make some chicken with white rice and beans.

So please tell me how my idea is or please feel free to give me suggestions and advice! tell me what has worked for you!

Remember I am trying to concieve( Its been almost a year :( ….) And my weight goal is 140 pounds.

Thanks!!

You have a good general idea of how to form a meal plan.

You want to stay away from processed foods and refined sugar. Look up “glycemic index” http://www.freedieting.com/glycemic_index.htm

Read your labels. A granola bar may sound healthy but most of them are loaded with sugar, which you don’t want. Maybe have an apple instead. Try skipping the condiments. Mayo is all fat and most other condiments are filled with sugar. Instead of eating white rice or white bread look for brown rice and whole grain breads and snacks. You probably crave chips for the crunch and salt so nuts may be a good alternative. While nuts may have more fat than other snacks they are actually better for you and in the long run will help you loss weight. If you have a Whole Foods around it is a good place to go for healthy snacks.

If you add lots of fresh veggies and lean meat to your diet you can still eat well and lose weight.

Good Luck!
